The Transportation Division of the Public Works Engineering Group oversees stand-alone roadway projects and roadway projects within the City’s Roadways Capital Improvement Projects (CIP).
Transportation Division project managers plan, direct, and coordinate roadway projects in coordination with other internal City resources, consultants, and contractors by tracking project status, project milestones, overseeing contracts, managing budgets and expenses, and coordinating inspections and project hand-off upon completion of construction.
The funding sources of roadway projects include City funding sources, awarded grants, state funding, and federal funding. Projects are typically completed in 5-10 years to allow for funding and resource allocation.
The City’s adopted Capital Improvement Program contains information on all CIPs and the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) dashboard is updated on an annual basis.
As of September 2023, the Engineering Group within the Department of Public Works is in the process of creating a public facing dashboard which will contain information on Public Works projects which will be updated more frequently.
