The Windsor Woods, Princess Anne Plaza, and The Lakes improvements are part of the overall Flood Protection Program (FPP) and include a combination of tide gates, pump stations, stormwater storage, flood barriers, and drainage pipe improvements.
In November 2021, VB voters approved a bond referendum to fund the Flood Protection Program (“The Ripple Effect”) which includes the design and construction of flood mitigation projects. These projects are designed to safeguard homes and businesses, responsibly address stormwater issues, and combat the effects of recurrent flooding throughout Virginia Beach.
