Project Status and Funding Source

Excavation is nearly complete. Tree, shrub and wetland plug plantings are scheduled to be completed in May.

This project is funded by CIP 100601.

This project includes the design and construction of a Stormwater Management Facility (SWMF) on a City-owned property between Oceana Boulevard, S. First Colonial Road, and Southern Boulevard to provide additional runoff storage.

Stormwater will be diverted from the stormwater pipes from Oceana Boulevard to the SWMF and then slowly released further downstream on Oceana Boulevard. The goal is to reduce street flooding for a:

  • 10-Year Design Storm from 360 linear feet to 0 linear feet (100%)
  • 100-Year Design Storm from 1150 linear feet to 665 linear feet (42%)
