Coming Soon: New Oceanfront Parking Plan
In 2026, a new Oceanfront parking plan for Virginia Beach residents will launch, providing a voucher worth $50 of free parking each year. In case you missed it, Virginia Beach City Council received a presentation about the program on Nov. 25 and voted to approve it on Dec. 9.
- Overnight Parking: Resort Area municipal parking garages offer overnight parking for hotel guests with multiple vehicles. Overnight parking is also available at Sandbridge and Little Island Park lots.
- Oversized Vehicle Parking: Available for visitors with large buses, RVs, or trailers at the 4th Street, Croatan, Sandbridge and Little Island Park lots.
- Monthly Parking Spaces: Frequent parkers have the option to purchase dedicated or non-dedicated parking spaces at all municipal parking garages.
- Resort Employee Parking Permit Program: Employees of participating businesses in the program are allowed to park in the Resort Area residential district and at any municipal parking garage or lot seven days a week.
- Virginia Beach Resident Rate: Pay $3 after 5 p.m. daily at municipal parking garages; surface lots from April 1 to Oct. 31. Proof of Virginia Beach residency required.
- Loyalty Card: FREE parking session after purchasing five parking sessions in the municipal parking garages. Ask attendant for card.
- Monthly Reserved Parking Space: Pay $100 a month for a dedicated reserved space at one of the Resort Area municipal parking garages.
- Monthly Parking Space: Pay $50 for a non-dedicated reserved parking space at one of the Resort Area municipal parking garages.
- Seasonal Parking Permit: Pay $70 annually for unlimited reentry into the seven municipal surface lots from April 1 to Oct. 31. Add a second vehicle for $10.
- Accessible Parking: FREE for the first four hours in all metered street spaces. Vehicle must be visibly marked with disabled parking tag or license plate.
- Off-Season Metered Parking: FREE at on-street spaces from Nov. 1 to March 31 with the exception of the 300 blocks of 24th 1/2 and 25th streets.
- Off-Season Surface Lot Parking: FREE at all municipal parking lots from Nov. 1 to March 31 except for oversized vehicles at the 4th Street Lot.

During the summer season, Live! On Atlantic performances on 19th Street and 23rd Street may hinder parking in that area.
Peak Parking Pricing
Daily parking rates are now $2 per hour at municipal parking garages, surface lots and meters in the Resort Area except during peak parking times.
